Let's take a trip back to the good old days of DOS, and other extremely early platforms.

I remember I used to play Duke Nukem 3D to no end when I was younger and just recently found it again and play it on my netbook. And I'm still trying to find this one game that I can't remember the name of for the life of me :(

That's not that old. IIRC that was actually designed for Windows 3.1 or 95, though it ran in DOS. I played the original Duke Nukem, as in the non-3D one. It was a 2D side-scroller and didn't have stuff like hookers or anything.

I also played the original Prince of Persia. Not "The Sands of Time", it was just called Prince of Persia. Animation in that game was revolutionary at the time.

Heroes Quest was one of my favourites. Arkanoid and Xenon II also had a lot of playtime.

On the Mac, I played The Dark Castle, Beyond the Dark Castle, Star Trek and a bunch of other silly games like stunt copter. I never did finish Marathon (The original Halo, if you didn't know - I know a guy who worked on that game as a texture artist when he was 17, a bit of a boy genius).

I remember playing Duke Nukem II, I have the first one lying around somewhere but good luck finding it. Oh and Commander Keen, that has to be my all time favorite.
